About Second Spring
Acupuncture & Wellness

“Helping, fixing and serving represent three different ways of seeing life.
When you help, you see life as weak. When you fix, you see life as broken.
When you serve, you see life as whole.
Fixing and helping may be the work of the ego, and service the work of the soul.”
- RACHEL NAOMI REMEN
The Second Spring Philosophy

Second Spring is rooted in compassionate, individualized care and the belief that good healthcare begins with listening. Each patient brings a different history, set of concerns and goals to treatment.
Coreen believes strongly in being of service to her patients throughout their care.
Treatment plans are tailored to the individual and may include acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and other supportive modalities when appropriate. Care is continually reassessed and adjusted as your needs change. When additional evaluation or treatment would be helpful, Coreen works collaboratively with and refers to trusted physicians and other healthcare practitioners.

Coreen Gutierrez, M.S., L.Ac., Dipl. AMH, is a licensed acupuncturist in California and a nationally board-certified practitioner of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. Each treatment plan is individualized and may incorporate acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, medicinal topicals, nutritional support and other modalities when appropriate. Care is continually reassessed and adjusted based on each patient’s needs and goals.
Coreen earned a four-year Master of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and has pursued extensive postgraduate training in fertility and women’s health. She also completed a sports medicine apprenticeship with renowned practitioner Whitfield Reaves.
A longtime San Francisco resident, Coreen enjoys exploring the city she has called home for more than 25 years. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, cooking with her husband and strolling with her dog, Baker.
